Pulse-Echo Measurements of Bone Tissues. Techniques and Clinical Results at the Spine and Femur

The Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology book series (AEMB, volume 1364) now provides a review of the available pulse-echo approaches for the quantitative evaluation of bone health status, focusing on Radiofrequency Echographic Multi Spectrometry (REMS). The book chapter underlines is in fact how REMS represents the unique ultrasound-based method able to go beyond the direct BMD estimation and providing the prediction of fracture risk, through the computation of the Fragility Score.
